Our Mission Statement for Play at Bradbury School
For all in the Bradbury community (students, staff and parents) to celebrate the importance of play in providing authentic and purposeful learning opportunities through agency, self-discovery, creativity with problem solving and social empathy.
What is play-based learning?
Play based learning should invite children to discover, create and extend their own interests and holistic understanding, developing agency and responding to challenges in a fun environment.
What makes it effective?
Play based learning is effective when children have agency. Teachers may offer a range of tools and materials and planned time to develop a range of skills to inspire curiosity in the world around them.
Why is it important?
Play-based learning allows students to develop social skills and creativity through problem solving. Students have agency which allows them to guide their own inquiry.
